Watchhouse | NCMA Outdoor-ish Concert Series

The Raleigh Memorial Auditorium is a rather grand space to be filled with such humble lyricism. The sister chandeliers looming above the velvet seatbacks dwarf the lonely center stage amp and the sweet sweet aircon no doubt goes unnoticed by all those within.

Despite its grandeur it was not the intended venue for Watchhouse’s visit to Raleigh and the original outdoor amphitheater at NCMA would no doubt have paired so sweetly with the tender artistry of the outfit.

However, it's hard to imagine any of the bandmates having many qualms about the change. And it's hard to imagine a single strand of their souls being woven for anything other than their music. While they possess no shortage of talent and skill, most impressive, perhaps, is their full-bodied desire to share their art. Candid verse, haunting nostalgia and spellbound melodies flowed effortlessly through the hearts of all those listenting, and the four players imbibed just as much as their guests.
